CELLO&VOICE at the Vermont Improvisation Strings Academy-VISA 2009

Marcelo will be in Brattelboro-VT from August 27th to 30th, invited by artistic director, professor and cellist EUGENE FRIESEN, for 4 days of intensive classes and practice in improvisation and creative string playing. Marcelo will give a masterclass and will perform songs from his Cello&Voice work in the festival's final performance

   Worked for 4 and a half years as cellist in Falamansa band, touring al over Brazil, USA and Europe, playing in 2003 Montreux Jazz Festival(Switzerland).

   Marcelo has been on tour with Miyako Kato Dance Space from Tokyo-Japan in August 2008, performing the live soundtrack for cello solo in the work called I, sharing the stage with Miyako Kato, Akira Kasai and Kim Itoh, presented in São Paulo, Manaus and Brasilia.

   Marcelo was awarded as best theater soundtrack composer in the I Theater Festival of Campinas Metropolitan Area, with the soundtrack for a play called “The Trial”, based on Kafka´s novel, by Galeria 4 Theater Company. The soundtrack is available for listening as well as photographs of the play at:

   Developed the soundtrack for the dance vídeo “Naitan”, and managed the sound treatment for the documentary that follows the video dance, in a partnership with the dancer and Unicamp Faculty member Adilson Nascimento, produced by Javali Produções-Campinas.
